TransCanada Pipeline
No punches pulled; gas flows uphill
Case History
Thinking it would increase their gas rates, Ontario companies lobbied against Trans-Canada Pipelines' intention to build a new pipeline to the U.S. Northwest. We created a brochure and a newspaper campaign. The Q Group counter-attack was blunt, specific and hard-hitting. The opposition saw the brochure - and withdrew before the media advertising ran. Victory came cheap!
Okay, so maybe building the pipeline didn’t exactly change the world (though it did make it a better place for the folk up north), but the approach we recommended (namely, getting our client to assemble the lobbyists and show them the material before they were made public) was certainly contrary to what you’d expect “the agency” to recommend.
