Database Marketing and Direct Mail
In 1980 we were the first company – ever – to send out personalized direct mail based on personal interests and income. (The client was BMW; the full story is under “How we changed the world”.) It was the birth of database marketing – long before anyone had heard of the term. Since then we have created and run highly effective data driven campaigns for many clients in the U.S. and Canada.
The list vendor testing method we developed, combined with our own data verification tools (that we use to check all names supplied for direct mail purposes), resulted in many U.S. list vendors having to change the way they guarantee their lists. It also enabled us to go up against the U.S. Postal Service – and win. As one of the postal officials said, “These guys sure know what they’re doing”. (“Thanks”, said we victoriously.)
Our principals have also been intimately involved in the creation and administration of various well-known points-based programs – but we believe there are far better ways to engender true customer loyalty. Please ask us; We love to share our success stories.
